Polynya provides a complete website service and will tailor this to your own needs. We have found however that a set of basic services we provide are used by the majority of our clients; these are listed below.

Web Site Design and Implementation
The design of a new website includes the following:
- Web page design:
- CSS (cascading style sheets)
- SSI (server side includes)
- Accessibility (ensuring the website conforms to the UK 1995 Discrimination Act, where applicable)
- Dynamic web pages where applicable, i.e. serving the user information based on who they are or what they are looking for (PHP, JavaScript, XML, JSP, ASP, Flash)
- ease of navigation has the highest priority so users can find information fast. The structural design of the website as well as the pages themselves will reflect this.
- search engine optimisation. All web pages will be indexed and written so as to enable search engines to find and classify the pages efficiently. The website can also be configured to disallow indexing of certain files (they will not appear in search engine listings).
During the initial phase of the project Polynya will require information and feedback on a regular basis. Once this stage is complete these intrusions will be kept to an absolute minimum.
Website Management
If, like many businesses, maintaining your web site is not your highest priority, Polynya's website manager service can take ownership and ensure the website is kept up to date and relevant. This service will enable your organisation to effectively have a website manager without paying a website manager's wage.
This is a monitoring role: we check the site content for staleness, this includes checking links. The website manager will also determine if there are any areas that need attention and suggest any changes needed.
Website Modifications
Many existing websites look dated and have technical problems that can be addressed without a complete redesign. Polynya can update your website with the minimal disruption to your company. We make the changes off-line and update in a small time frame.
When redesigning, Polynya will improve the site technically, will improve the user experience and will improve the overall look of the site.
